The Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 EX DG HSM lens covers a huge focal length range from 300mm to the ultra-telephoto focus length of 800mm. By continuously varying the angle of view from 8.2º to 3.1º, the lens takes a lot of the footwork out of picture composition. This lens is perfectly suited to wildlife and sports photographers where a powerful focal length is essential.

Built to Sigma’s professional EX standards, this lens is designed to provide superior image and build quality. Two Extraordinary Low Dispersion glass elements reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and ensure sharp, quality images from the centre to the edge of the frame. In order to attain the highest quality images, the APO lens has been incorporated using special low-dispersion (SLD) glass. The effect of which minimises colour aberration throughout the image. This digitally optimised ultra-telephoto lens is equipped with a Sigma’s Multi-Layer Coating technology that reduces both flare and ghosting. This also ensures an accurate colour balance and high contrast images.

The internal focusing system ensures the overall length of the lens does not change during focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) ensures an ultra-quiet, high-speed autofocus as well as full-time manual focusing capability, making it possible to manually focus without leaving AF mode.

A 46mm filter can be inserted near the rear of the lens, and a circular polarising filter (included) can be used in situ. A heavy duty tripod bush is included as standard for use with tripods and monopods. Multiple threaded holes allow accurate balancing of lens and camera body. This is also designed as an easy grip when carrying the lens.

I must first say that I am NOT a gamer and until recently had no interest in playing games through my TV. Have always stuck to chess on my PC. Having watched my son play a few games on his bedroom "machine" (not sure what he has got!) I decided to take the plunge. At 50 I wish I had taken the plunge sooner!! The graphics on the games are simply amazing and it would appear that this is exactly what my HD TV was built for!
It was easy to set up and I did not need instructions. Great start. Batteries into the wireless controller and everything starts happening for you with easy to follow on-screen assistance. Fantastic.
Inserted the first game (Need for Speed: The Run) and that was it! I was off. I have to admit that I am not very good at it yet, but hey who cares?!! It was great fun and I have thoroughly enjoyed my Xbox experience so far. Just waiting for Skyrim to arrive so I can get slaughtered by dragons.
My wife hasn't seen it under the telly yet, as I get up early to play!!

When I first looked into this monitor there were no reviews of it anywhere. I already had an Acer PC so I knew about the brand and quality. The monitor seemed to have everything I wanted - 24 inch widescreen, LED, full HD at a price than was too good to ignore. My only concern was the 5ms response time as I like to play games on my PC. My research suggested that this shouldn't really make a difference.

I decided to take the plunge. The monitor arrived well within the free delivery timescale. The box included the stand, a 3-pin power lead, a 2-pin power lead, a VGA cable, booklets and a CD with software. My plan was to use a HDMI cable which I already had. The unit is light and has a glossy black bezel which matches my PC. The stand was easy to attach with the aid of a cross head screwdriver. There are 5 unmarked plastic buttons on the underside just to the right of the stand.
